The natural mushroom extract that is used to protect the quality of our beverages is obtained from the edible mushroom Sweet Osmanthus Ear. This non genetically modified, wild-type strain of mushroom is extracted without chemical modification. This flavorless and odorless extract naturally protects the freshness of our beverages. You won’t even know it’s in there!
Our Ginger Beers use pure cane sugar, honey and fruit juices from concentrate. Our Zero Sugar Ginger Beers use a proprietary natural sweetener blend of Erythritol, Stevia and Monk Fruit. This blend creates a full-sugar taste, without the sugar!
Erythritol is a sugar substitute also referred to as a sugar alcohol. Sugar alcohols are counted as carbohydrates in the nutrition label however; their caloric effect on the body is lower than that of a normal carb which is why it has zero calories.
No but Reed’s ZERO Sugar products use Erythritol as a sweetner. Erythritol is produced by fermentation from a simple sugar derived from corn, called dextrose.
The sediment in our ginger beer products is naturally occurring ginger pulp as a result of the natural ginger and brewing process. We use real ginger in our formulas and lots of it. Levels of ginger pulp can vary from batch to batch.
We source our ginger sustainably from the Peruvian Amazon – a bold strain found nowhere else.
Although our ginger is Peruvian and our traditional recipe style is Jamaican, our ginger beers are made in the USA.

Reed’s ginger chews and crystallized ginger have a two year shelf life. We print either a julian date batch code or a Best By date. The best by date starts with ‘BB’ and then followed by the month/day/year that the candy is fresh until.
If the code doesn’t begin with ‘BB’, then it’s a batch code representing the day and year the candy was made. The first three numbers are the day of the year and the next two are the year. For example, if the batch code is 12320 then the candy was produced on the 123rd day of 2020 and would be fresh for two years from that date, fresh until the 123rd day of 2022.
For proprietary reasons, we don’t list the amount of ginger we use in our products. We are confident you’ll find that Reed’s ginger chews and crystallized ginger have the right amount of bite.
Ginger chews are individually wrapped chewy candy made with cane sugar, organic ginger root and tapioca starch. The crystallized ginger is made with diced baby ginger root steeped in pots of raw cane syrup. After several days, the sticky morsels are removed and given time to crystallize.
